PLAY PARKSThe NCC, over the years has concentrated its efforts in placing these recreational parks in the various communities, since it has recognised the need to provide avenues for young people to interact and also to achieve some level of enjoyment. As such the Commission has opened two newly constructed play parks at Deacons and Pasture Road, in the parish of St. Michael on October 21 and November 17, 2000 respectively. A play park at the Crane, St.Philip was also opened on March 02, 2001. It is envisioned that these parks will help foster community mindedness and encourage the youth to part-take in wholesome recreational activities as well as encouraging adults to play more social roles, thus ensuring a stronger knit community. |
